I was reading the excellent Hands On Blog post on thanking the staff who support volunteers and realized that the pro bono community does not often talk about thanking staff. We discuss the importance of engaging staff in an organization’s pro bono efforts and nurturing staff support of and for volunteers. But we don’t often share the ways in which we do, or should, recognize the staff who are engaged and supporting our pro bono attorneys.
Expressing our appreciation for staff efforts is just as important as recognizing volunteers’ contributions. Doing so reinforces and rewards the support we seek to encourage and the important outcomes people create.
Do you recognize your staff for their efforts in supporting pro bono volunteers? Share your experience in the poll and Comments below.
