As we approach the last days of August, it only seems natural to highlight the upcoming National Pro Bono Celebration to be held the week of October 21, 2012. Providing pro bono assistance is a reward in itself but each October, we take time to focus on the importance of pro bono and come up with new and innovative programs to ensure access to justice for all. Many programs are already busy planning for this year’s events but it certainly is not too late if you have not yet started.
Visit the 2012 National Pro Bono Celebration Event Guide to find ideas and useful tips. There is information for everyone from law firms to law schools. Find low or no cost event ideas and take a moment to view the newest addition to the Celebration website: Just Stories. The Just Stories project brings together a quilt of short videos from public interest advocates sharing memorable pro bono experiences. Take a moment to be inspired by the videos already posted, and consider sending in your own video sharing your most powerful, memorable advocacy experience.
